We draw invisible lines on the earth marking the boundaries of our places. Most of these are arbitrary, geopolitical, colonial. They can be dangerous—across there is enemy territory. They’re confusing—show me again the line so I don’t wander across. At the very moment people are dying in defense of lines and of the ideas behind lines.
